Episode one of a brand new series is always a challenge - setting the tone and the pacing; striking that careful balance in the subjective arena of production music (“I like a 60s vibe”, “No Accordions!”, “That’s too Pop-y”) - and now throw into the mix that for each travel sequence with David and Hugh on their bikes, we usually had 8-9 cameras rolling, along with iso records of multiple mics.

Three days of travelling across each episode, with a stop here and there to take in the sights, sounds and smells of France…this was a media monster - we had invaluable help from our edit assist, thank you @MatthewHolding !

It was great to work with @TomOlney again, with insightful guidance from @GillBrown and @SteveWynne plus of course hours of ‘material’ from our Fellows on Velos. Hope that you all enjoy it and perhaps get some inspiration on places to visit next time you are on the other side of the channel. @The Talent Manager

The Real Unforgotten was filmed over 6 years and I came on board for the last year of the production filming the final stages of the story and taking the series through Post Production. It's a fantastic 2 part documentary showcasing the brilliant work of the Cold Case Investigation team. A very small production team worked incredibly hard on a very complex compliance heavy series. I highly recommend everyone watches tomorrow.

@MarkWells @KateElliott were fantastic to work with on this epic trawl through many many hours of brilliant archive. Rediscovering Eric, a complete comedy legend, was an amazing experience. Developing a non linear narrative approach with Mark, in order to deal with the sheer breadth of available material, was hugely rewarding. A highlight has to be getting my hands on Eric's personal 35mm collection of original footage in a screening room, to see how he had cut and recut his early films.
