Great to have Secrets of the Aquarium featured. Was over two years ago when we first pitched this idea to the BBC. It can take a long time to get something on screen!
Timing is everything with development - I've no doubt others pitched access to the National Marine Aquarium before us, but we were strategic and pitched at the right time. There is so much more to development than just having a good idea!

Thanks for the shout out to Bill Bailey's Australian Adventure! Can't believe we shot it in 4 weeks with a tiny team who all worked above and beyond trying to fix locations and contributors in advance. But in all honesty the stuff that was organic in the moment with Bill is always the best and the funniest. Bill Bailey was a consummate professional, whose work ethic was unparalleled. I hope this series is more than the usual travelogue. It was challenging at times but a privilege to direct!

We were trying to mix ob doc travelogue with natural history and hopefully have succeeded. An incredible (and tiny!) team worked incredibly hard to make it all happen. Thanks for featuring us.

We are very excited that JFK: The Home Movie that Changed the World is on the TM 'must watch' list! It was an interesting film to make because it's 90% archive from 1963 and 10% our own original material – we shot on 16mm and Super 8 in order to match the archive.

What did I like most about making The Playboy Bunny Murder? I think the blending of retrospective and unfolding contemporary narrative, was a unique and exciting challenge.
What did I learn: trust emerging talent regardless of the profile of the documentary. Give everyone on the team a voice at the table. Have a clear vision. Stay calm, but fight for every penny to make the film the best it can be.

Talent and crew really pulled together, especially during the outdoor portions when it tipped it down with rain! Looking forward to watching this years.

There were several aspects I really enjoyed about making JFK: The Home Movie that Changed the World. In Oct '22 I began locating and listening to the oral histories of those who were in Dallas on Nov. 22nd '63, either accompanying the President and Mrs. Kennedy or waving and cheering as the President's motorcade drove by. I enjoyed choosing the oral histories and watching the script come to life, telling the story of the day with the actual voices of those who were there.

It was a great experience shooting Playboy Bunny Murder - we had an awesome team, full of hugely talented people, who all worked together to make a show that puts the contributors and their story first.

It was great to be shooting on film again. We enjoyed the challenge of filming in Dallas so that our footage would match the archive from 1963 and we had great fun filming our evocative recreations. If anyone has any questions about any aspect of our documentary please feel free to ask away!

I'm intrigued by your use of 16mm and S8. Obviously options are limited in terms of monitoring on-location and data wrangling. How did you overcome those challenges?
