Mik is a Polish/British Cinematographer selected for the BAFTA Connect programme and specialising in high-end cinematic documentaries and docudramas. As of 2025 he is a mentee in the British Society of Cinematographers Mentorship Programme. In as little as 8 years working behind camera, Mik has accumulated a huge body of work, with dozens of episodes of TV series, including being the DP behind 2x Grierson 2024 Shortlisted projects (Sky's Great Rhino Robbery & Netflix's Mark Cavendish: Never Enough). He was recently put forward for an Emmy Award in Best Lighting Direction in a documentary (Jared from Subway).
Mik has worked as a DoP or Camera Operator on dozens of international shoots, including filming in Canada, Costa Rica, South Africa, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, Tunisia, and all over Europe, for clients spanning Netflix, National Geographic, Sky, Discovery, Channel 4, 5, ITV, BBC and many others. He has travelled to and filmed in the USA on over 20 occasions, visiting 40 states, including Hawaii. Mik's experience ranges from no-budget shorts, to huge TV shows with over 100 members of the crew and millions of viewers watching at home. He has filmed in extreme conditions, in 6 deserts and on board of a Black Hawk Helicopter over the Red Sea.
As a passionate filmmaker, Mik has been working to adapt his documentary style into shooting narrative films and vice versa. His recent short film 'Something for Your Mind' was featured in the 'United Kingdom Focus' section at the Sci-Fi London festival and made headlines for its use of Unreal Engine technology on the indie filmmaking platform NoFilmSchool.com. In the world of commercials, his clients have included Hendrick's Gin, Oppo, Expedia, Liverpool FC and M&S.
Before committing to image making, started his career working for 5 years in editorial - as a Researcher and an Assistant Producer, mainly on historical, science and true crime projects. As such, he has an extensive knowledge of various aspects of the production and puts the story and the wellbeing of the crew and contributors as his top priorities.
With a heavy interest in the sport world, Mik has worked with multiple major sports personalities, such as the Champions League winning manager Jürgen Klopp, England legends Paul Gascoigne and Michael Owen, Netball star Jade Clarke, Commonwealth Games Gold Medal Boxer Lewis Williams, 5-times Rowing Olympic Gold Medallist Steve Redgrave and the greatest bike sprinter of all time, Mark Cavendish.
Outside of filming, he likes to play boardgames and miniature war-games. In 2013 he founded and for 2 years ran the Great British Hobbit League, the world's largest competitive Middle-earth miniature gaming group. As a player he won the 2018 European Team Championships as part of Team England and as part of different teams managed to claim 1st, 2nd and 3rd places at Ardacon Team World Championships in 2018, 2023 and 2024. He's a former UK Champion and for his overall contribution to the game, he was awarded the inaugural 'Hero of Middle-earth' award by the community in 2023. He's an avid outdoor enthusiast, who climbs, hikes, cycles and does all sorts of other things for fun. However, most importantly of all... he's a loving cat-dad.
