Steve - isn't it the tight schedules, resources and the associated pressures that's squashing the happiness out of tv production? How can you be happy on a tight schedule (with the high expectations execs and broadcaster naturally have) where sadly (but often) managers dont have time or headspace to think & plan ahead...

I agree with James point and to add to that, budgets seem to have been pinched further and further over the past few years to the point that there aren't enough staff being hired. You end up with production staff in particular doing the work of 2 or 3 people. That's a very difficult space to protect your mental health and happiness in, and often these projects will be back to back.
