As shooting producer-director, I worked closely with the talented ex-detective turned film-maker Mark Williams-Thomas. Our challenge was finding and gaining the trust of former friends and associates of Christian B, so that we could build a picture of the life and character of the man linked to one of the world's biggest unsolved crimes. At every turn we were presented with evidence of a man capable of heinous crimes against children and women. Yet our conclusion into his involvement in the abduction and murder of Madeleine McCann - as alleged by the German police - will surprise many viewers.
