Hey. Thanks for tagging me in this. So I directed Merson with producer @SophieClayton-Payne. It’s quite a raw film for Paul to make, he hasn’t gambled for a year but it’s clear from the film how much the addiction still has a huge grip on him.

Thanks for the pick! Directing a documentary that explores an intimate topic like sexual fantasies would be tricky at the best of times, but doing it during a pandemic definitely added a new level of complexity! Hi - thanks for the tag. 'Nature and Us: A History Through Art' was originally intended to be a presenter-led global travelogue, but like so many other productions we had to change it all due to Covid. We ended up with 10 crews spread across the globe that we directed remotely - a new way of working. But we believe it worked out for the best. Tagging in the Series Director @BenHarding, AP @aliceharper, DoPs @PeteAllibone and Sam Jackson, PM @GeorginaBowman, and Exec @ClaireWhalley.

I'd be interested to hear more about the challenges and benefits of directing by remote control @AlexBrisland @GeorginaBowman @ClaireWhalley @BenHarding @AliceHarper @SamJackson @PeteAllibone. If you each had to say what the worst and best bits were what would you say?

@SarahLee Id say it was high risk and reward. When it worked well we got more interesting remote sequences than we could have shot by sending out a British crew, but there were times when you wish you'd been there and able to react to a situation in the moment. Also across a 3x60' filming everything with different crews does pose challenges for consistency.
