Comedian London Hughes has blasted British TVâs âperformativeâ approach to diversity, which she says is governed by an ethos that white audiences will not âgetâ black-led shows.
In conversation with broadcaster Tan France for the Edinburgh Festivalâs âAlternative MacTaggartâ session, Hughes said the UK was âdisgustingly far behindâ the US in its approach to diversity and criticised Channel 4âs Black to Front initiative as âtokenisticâ.
