I’m really pleased to finally be able to share that Brick by Brick is being released this week.
The film will have a theatrical run from Friday 6 February to Wednesday 12 February, supported by Somerset Film and Bridgwater Town Council.
Brick by Brick is a high-budget short film that looks directly at how Bridgwater is perceived, and what gets overlooked when a place is reduced to a single narrative. The film engages with questions of class, pride, and visibility, and asks who gets to define a town’s story, and who lives with the consequences of that definition.
This project was rooted in listening. Alongside the film, we spent time speaking with local people about how they see Bridgwater, what frustrates them, and what they feel is consistently missed. That tension between external perception and lived experience sits at the heart of the work.
If you’re able to attend the theatrical run, booking details and further information are here:

There’s also a vox pop video available here, which captures some of the voices that helped shape the project:

I’m proud of everyone involved in bringing this to the screen.
