In May 2025, I worked on 'OUTSpoken: Jackie Forster' as an Archive Researcher. It's out now on OUTflix on OUTtv.
I was brought on towards the end of the edit to source hard-to-find, specialist LGBTQA+ material including stills from the Format Agency collection at The Bishopsgate Institute and oral history recordings from the British Library. With a base in London, I am able to cycle to many of the major libraries and archives to conduct research in-person. This was especially important on this job where much of the material we were interested in was offline & undigitised.
Jackie Forster was an incredible woman at the forefront of the fight for ***** motherhood in the 1970's. This documentary highlights how she went from broadcast journalist and reporter to starting the underground donor sperm operation that helped the first ***** women have children.
