I'm in L. A., and the unions are horrific in perpetuating sexism AND old fashioned racism....
I went to my union to speak in person about the ranking crew who asked me to hire a woman in our entry level position, on condition that she wear a miniskirt at wrap.
I didn’t and was retaliated against.
The WOMAN Business Rep I spoke with waived the back of her hand at me as she turned to walk away, but said over her shoulder “Oh, he’s known around here as a “serial harasser”…. and went to chat with somebody else….

What are your obligations in terms of reporting / escalating this? How can we do this in a way that protects the colleague? What if the colleague has specifically asked not to escalate?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
