On World Mental Health Day, I received this lovely package from my current employer, True North and their wonderful welfare supervisor, @CarolineParry (nee Stewart).

In my 20+ year career, I’ve never received anything like this before. It’s a small gesture, but it speaks volumes about how seriously they take mental health. It’s incredibly meaningful to feel genuinely valued and supported in this way.

While it’s heartening to see some companies taking these positive steps, I can’t help but wonder if broadcasters and streamers are just paying lip service to mental health. What are they actually doing to support the wellbeing of their workforce? Initiatives like this package and generally the MH services True North offer their staff and freelancers show real commitment, but the question remains—are the big players doing enough to address mental health in a meaningful way?
