I was lucky enough to work with Michael on several occasions. He was the presenter on many of the shows I'm proudest of. As well as his talent for popular science that everyone can see - I remember him most of all for always taking an interest in people when the cameras were off. He wanted to know more about you, whether a local runner in NYC on a couple of days work or a producer embedded on a show. He understood people and offered help and advice in all walks of life. A good man.

@RobinParker I worked with Michael 7 years ago, and I have fond memories of that time. I spent many mornings and afternoons on location chatting to him about his work, his new discoveries and things he was looking to investigate in the future. He was a really lovely man who treated everyone he came across with respect which made it pleasure to work with him. I’ve been very sad this weekend, he was a wonderful human and may he rest in peace.

Very sad. His work changed how I manage an autoimmune condition without steroids. When you live with something chronic that few get to see, having control over your body is everything. It’s hard to articulate just how much his work touches my life - it’s allowed me to work and enjoy family events that were once shaped by discomfort. I never talk about autoimmune disease on my professional platforms. Heart felt thanks to everyone that worked on the fasting doc and of course, to Dr M for 5:2.
