If you've seen some of the latest viral drone videos you may have noticed there's a new style of drone filming.. FPV. This indicates the pilot is flying using goggles so can accurately steer through and around objects with more control and precision than with a traditional drone filming platform. Cameras on FPV drones are not gimballed, the footage is usually stabilised in post. This gives the footage a different feel, it is more dynamic with fluid flowing movement.. as long as the pilot gets it right!
Here's an example of some of my FPV work, this is shot with a "Cinewhoop" designed for slow, smooth flight, it has ducted propellers making it safer to fly around people or delicate surfaces
There are other ways of filming FPV like freestyle (great for chasing vehicles or diving down objects) as FPV has already started to evolve into different styles.
