In the 3 month window of making and delivering, ‘Filthy Business’, it has been a whirl wind experience when the main premise of the story arch changed on the Friday before we were about to film. It meant that when we started filming on the Monday with our shooting PD, Jonny Wright and DV Director, Ben Perez-Amaro, they had a clear story to follow. This is Common Story’s first commission for BBC Three so I knew we had to get this right! The founding partners &I discussed with the main contributors, Cam and Oli, on what was happening in their world that weekend. After digesting all that was happening during the month filming was taking place, we devised a new strategy to tell a different story, which in the end made for a better documentary. We had a tight turnaround between the shoot & delivery so there was no room for error. Tom Boyce and Ella Rowbery kept the day to day mechanics of what happened on location running, making this such an enjoyable job as Exec Prod, especially as it allowed me to work out the story arcs we needed to follow on location. What you see on screen with Cam and Oli is their authentic selves; 2 lads trying to earn a living through their own business and showing that hard graft, determination & a strong friendship means you can do pretty much anything...cont in comments] @[JonnyWright @BenPerez-Amaro @TomBoyce @EllaRowberry @DinkeshMiesuria
