Channel 4 has signed Naked’s head of factual entertainment Cal Turner as a commissioner for the genre.

Turner joined the Fremantle-owned indie in 2015, when it was still known as Boundless, initially to executive produce The Apprentice. She was named head of factual entertainment when the new-look Naked was formed in October 2020.

Her other credits at Naked include Channel 4's 60 Days with Ed Stafford and ITV's The Chasers Road Trip, plus upcoming Netflix survival format Snowflake Mountain.

She previously executive produced Studio Lambert’s C4 series Undercover Boss and has also worked on C4 shows Jamie’s Dream School and The Tower Block of Commons and BBC3’s Freaky Eaters.

As C4 commissioning editor for factual entertainment, Turner will report to genre head Alf Lawrie and joins a London team that comprises Becky Cadman, Vivienne Molokwu, Tim Hancock, Ian Dunkley and Lee McMurray, plus Bristol-based Daniel Fromm.

Shows commissioned by the department include Gogglebox, The Great British Bake Off, Celebrity Hunted and Married at First Sight.

C4's current fact ent wishlist includes more celebrity-focused singles in the mould of Caroline Flack: Her Life and Death, pop docs and series about well-known companies and institutions, plus ‘epic, audacious new constructs’ for 9pm.
