Expectation has signed a director of development and handed promotions to two of its key entertainment producers.

James Donkin joins the indie from Tuesday’s Child, where has held the same role for five years, leading development on shows such as BBC1’s Head Hunters and The Hit List and ITV2’s Apocalypse Wow.

He also held the same role at Renegade Pictures and has produced shows such as ITV4’s Take the Tower (Twofour) and BBC3’s Release the Hounds (Primal Media).

Expectation creatie director Ben Wicks said Donkin has “one of the best format brains in Britain”.

Meanwhile, series producer Rhe-an Archibald will now work across development and production in a new showrunning executive producer role in recognition of her work on Channel 4 late-night duo The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan and The Big Narstie Show.

Head of entertainment development Amy Dallmeyer, who has developed ITV show It’s Clarkson on TV and C4’s John Cleese: Cancel Me and Mo Gilligan’s All Star Happy Hour, has an expanded brief to develop and co-exec produce her forthcoming shows.
