Emerging production companies hit by the disruption of the pandemic are to be offered accelerated training support from Creative England.

The agency has opened applications for its Accelerate: Film & TV programme, which spans scripted and unscripted production.

Over the first four months of 2022, the scheme will provide up to 15 indies with six workshops and training from industry leaders, along with one-on-one business coaching from course director Angus Finney.

Creative England said the programme, which is funded by the BFI, will help indies refine their business strategy, get advice on business planning, funding, finance and deal-making, develop an audience and market strategy for their slate and learn more about revenue models, profitability and monetising their IP.

The agency is prioritising regional indies with revenues of less than £100,000 and with either at least one fully-financed project or three at 'meaningful' stages of development.

It is also running two companion offers for game developers and games tech and service programmes, in partnership with gaming industry trade association Ukie.

Indies have until 8 December to apply. For further details, click here
