Drama indie Little Door Productions has hired creatives from Pulse Films and See-Saw Films as it looks to expand its offering beyond its Welsh home.
Joining as head of production is Emily Precious, who was previously senior production executive and production consultant at See-Saw, working on shows including Sky’s Sweetpea and Netflix’s Heartstopper and Grown-Ups.
Development producer Abigail Dennis comes from Pulse, where she was senior development producer and oversaw its new writing initiative. She has previously worked for Eleven Film and Euston Films.
Little Door chief executive Elwen Rowlands said the pair “bring a huge amount of experience across development and production, but they also bring the kind of taste, curiosity and care that is so important to us as a company”.
She added: “As we continue to grow, we want to keep building Little Door around brilliant people who share our belief in backing creatives properly and giving projects the attention they deserve.”
Rowlands co-founded Little Door with chief operating officer Hayley Manning in 2020 and the Cardiff-based company recently opened a London office.
Its productions include BBC1’s The Pact and Sky thriller Under Salt Marsh [main picture]. Rowlands credited the scale of the latter with demonstrating Little Door’s ambitions beyond being seen as a nations and regions indie.
Speaking to Broadcast, Rowlands said: “The company was founded in the nations and regions, and we will always develop and make shows about Wales, but only a small part of our slate has been local projects. We want to send the message we’re not just making shows about Wales.”
