Mitre Studios has signed a podcast executive as it ramps up ambitions to produce content for digital and emerging platforms.
Jemima Rathbone has joined the indie, which was founded by ITV stars Ant & Dec and produces the duo’s shows, as senior executive producer for podcasts.
She will head up Mitre’s recently-established podcasting team and oversee flagship title Hanging Out with Ant & Dec. She will also lead audio-first content for the duo’s nascent digital entertainment brand Belta Box.
Rathbone was previously an executive producer at JamPod Productions, working across a stable of podcasts that includes Great Company with Jamie Laing, Write Me Dirty with Katherine Ryan and Mad, Sad & Bad with Paloma Faith.
Prior to joining JamPod three years ago, she was a producer at Somethin’ Else, where her credits included podcasts Where There’s a Will, There’s a Wake (a Sony co-pro initially fronted by Kathy Burke) and Out to Lunch as well as Radio 4 shows Gardeners’ Question Time and The Kitchen Cabinet.
Head of development
Mitre has also signed former Saturday Night Takeaway senior producer Ed Daggett as head of development, with a brief to work across entertainment, factual entertainment and reality shows.
Daggett joins from ITV Studios label Lifted Entertainment, where he was a development executive, working on shows including I’m a Celebrity...South Africa, My Mum Your Dad and upcoming format The Neighbourhood.
He has previously worked for Tiger Aspect, Monkey, Hungry Bear and Talkback.
