Youth-driven indie Fully Focused Productions and Grenfell: Uncovered director Olaide Sadiq were among the winners of this year’s New Voice Awards.
Fully Focused, which involves young creatives across all levels of its productions, picked up the Indie Impact Award for its ongoing commitment to make productions inclusive and to transform storytelling.
The company, which has worked with Comic Relief and produced BBC3 comedy Pru, runs the MYM Academy, which offers free training, ongoing support and paid opportunities for young people, and showcases their work on online platform. the MYM Network
The shortlist also included After Party Studios, Different Productions, Gold Wala and Warp Films, with Section 52 Films given a special mention.
Sadiq received the Victor Adebodun Debut Director award for Rogan Productions’ Netflix doc Grenfell: Uncovered [main picture], adding to a string of accolades including the Bafta Breakthrough 2025, Broadcast Hot Shots 2024 and TV Collective Breakthrough Leaders 2023.
She was previously series producer on the indie’s earlier Netflix commission The Final: Attack on Wembley and produced Mindhouse Productions' docs Boybands Forever and Louis Theroux Interviews.
Also shortlisted were Hannah Congdon for TNT Sports’ The Long Away Game, Reframe the Game; Riva Japaul for Channel 4’s UK Prisons Exposed - Sex, Drugs & Corruption; Jessica Mitchell for ITV’s Blind Matchmakers; and Maleena Pone, who featured in a Talent Manager Masterclass for her C4 doc Saving Mum: Our Family Secret.
The Debut Writer award went to AA Dhand for Magical Society’s BBC crime drama Virdee, while Simi Jolaosa picked up the Debut Presenter award for BBC Eye Investigates: The Child Cancer Scam.
Bella Roberts was named Best Social Creator and Fats Moeva won the future presenter category.
The awards are bestowed by the TV Foundation, with all winners receiving a free pass to the Edinburgh TV Festival.
