The lead producer of Netflix’s Heartstopper is exiting producer See-Saw Films after more than a decade to join the UK arm of studio A24.
Since joining See-Saw in 2014, Patrick Walters had been involved in shows including Slow Horses and The Essex Serpent for Apple TV+ and BBC2’s The North Water.
In 2023, he formed Fanboy, a premium drama label within See-Saw, which landed its first commission, returning drama Sweetpea, with Sky Atlantic and Starz.
He was most closely associated with teen drama Heartstopper, which he also executive produced across its three series and its upcoming feature-length finale.
He is now joining A24’s London-based UK team, which is run by Piers Wenger and Rose Garnett, to grow its global TV slate.
Best known for feature films and US shows such as HBO’s Euphoria and Netflix’s Beef, A24 has been making major inroads in the UK.
It co-produces BBC3 comdies Dreaming Whilst Black and Such Brave Girls and its upcoming slate includes Michaela Coel’s BBC/HBO co-pro First Day on Earth, Leo Reich’s Channel 4 comedy It Gets Worse, the BBC’s The Ministry of Time and C4’s Major Players.
