All3Media label Wise Owl Films has signed HiddenLight exec Ben Gordon as head of development.
Ben Gordon is joining the Leeds-based company, which is the sister label of Hollyoaks producer Lime Pictures, to expand its linear and digital slate of factual, specialist factual, contemporary history, archive and documentary programmes.
Prior to his two years at Hillary and Chelsea Clinton’s production company HiddenLight, Gordon has worked for the likes of The Garden Productions, Wag Entertainment and Wall To Wall Television.
He has developed shows such as ITVX’s The Real Fatal Attraction, Bafta-winning BBC2 series The Yorkshire Ripper Files: A Very British Crime Story, Channel 4 doc Britain’s Secret War Babies and BBC2’s Back In Time For… strand.
Wise Owl, which makes BBC arts strand When… Came to Britain and The Hacienda: The Club That Shook Britain and More 4 series Our Farm Next Door: Amanda Clive and Kids [main picture[, recently promoted specialist factual head James Knight to creative director, with founder Mark Robinson becoming an executive producer and development consultant.
Knight said that Gordon “brings a wealth of experience and a tenacious reputation for generating smart contemporary ideas”.
