Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B aims to build on the success of Netflix's Adolescence with a London-based European office that will accelerate co-productions and develop a premium drama slate.
Clerkenwell Films executive producer Ed Macdonald, whose credits includeNetflix’s Baby Reindeer and Channel 4/Netflix co-pro The End of the F***ing World, is to run the European company, working closely with Plan B’s US-based head Nina Wolarsky.
Plan B recently co-produced Netflix smash Adolescence [pictured] with Warp Films, produced the movies F1 and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and worked with European companies on titles including Apple TV+ movie Weekend Rebels.
The company is owned by the Mediawan group and is run by Pitt with business partners Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner.
Plan B said in a statement that the European office will focus on “generating new synergies and finding innovative ways to finance projects, with the UK’s unique position as a bridge between the American and European industries and as one of Europe’s most attractive hubs for film and TV funding”.
