CPL Productions has been named multichannel production company of the year at the Broadcast Digital Awards, with its E4 show Married at First Sight UK named best entertainment programme.

Judges hailed the reality specialist for its ability to “continually reinvent long-standing formats and create cultural buzz”.

Married at First Sight is the most viewed title across all commercial BVoD platforms, has “evolved into one of the most culturally impactful and engaged reality formats in the UK”, judges said.

It was also a good night for Sky, which won in two key factual categories: Curious Films’ Boyzone: No Matter What was named best documentary series and Windfall Films’ Sky Arts doc The Lost Music of Auschwitz was crowned awarded best specialist factual programme.

Sky Sports Main Event took home both channel of the year and non-PSB channel of the year, and Sky News Digital Team landed best digital support for a strand, channel or genre, having become the biggest UK broadcaster on TikTok with coverage that “redefines what news looks like for the next generation”.

Other winners included ITV Studios label Happy Prince, which won both best drama programme and programme of the year for its Disney+ series Rivals, highlighted as “a big leap in commissioning for the streamer”.

Two other Disney+ factual commissions picked up awards: Passion Pictures’ Devil in the Family: The Fall of Ruby Franke was named best true crime programme, while Endurance, a co-pro between National Geographic Documentary Films, Little Dot Studios, History Hit, Consequential and Little Monster Films, was crowned best documentary programme.
