Two of the creatives behind BBC1 drama Boiling Point have set up a TV and film indie in London, with plans to open a second office in Liverpool.

It’s All Made Up is run by Philip Barantini, who directed the original short and subsequent 2021 movie and the spin-off TV series, and executive producer Samantha Beddoe.

Both hail from Liverpool and also co-produced Accused, a Netflix feature film directed by Barantini.

His other credits include BBC1’s The Responder and ITV’s Malpractice, while Beddoe has also worked on the film What’s Love Got to Do With It and upcoming Disney+ series The Acolyte.

Having co-produced the Boiling Point series with Ascendant Fox and Matriarch Productions through an earlier, less formalised version of the label, the duo now plan to add documentaries to their scripted output.

Emerging and underrepresented voices and stories will be a particular focus.

It’s All Made Up and Matriarch have re-teamed for Barlanti’s latest project, Netflix UK crime thriller Adolescence, with Warp Films and Plan B also on board.
