Can anyone help with a producer / production management placement for my B.A. Creative Producing course, please? As a mature student, I have transferable office skills from a diverse career in office administration, business support and customer services to offer in exchange for an opportunity to gain commercial experience with a production company.

You may have already seen this, but ScreenSkills have programmes for unscripted production coordinators which might be of interest? https://www.screenskills.com/news/new-unscripted-tv-programmes-announced/

Thank you, Hannah. Appreciate your reply. Yes I have seen the ScreenSkills programme, but I'm on a Creative Producing degree course until the summer and the placement is for credit towards my degree. To be honest, not sure all the internships, placement opportunities and programmes will be open to someone a lot over 25! Have my fingers crossed, though!

Would there be a value in looking at Shooting People? They often need producers and production managers for student films. Otherwise I owuld consider approaching companies whose work you admire - you may just hit it off with them so you might as well aim where you want to end up! Most companies would be delighted to have a hand with all that paperwork.

Hi Zan. Thank you for replying. I did think companies would appreciate a helping hand from an experienced administrator and have contacted companies I admire, but not all. If I notice companies are not taking in work experience, due to COVID, I comply. Also hearing that TV is moving away from unpaid placements. Have written, directed, edited and produced a student film and assisted on other student work, but I really would like an insight into the workings of a professional production company.
