After two years of the pandemic, tourism is resetting in Palau, with 2022 a more hopeful year for the tourism sector. But while the country has managed to keep the infections away from its shore, COVID-19 hammered the tourism industry in the last two years, Palau's Tourism Minister Ngirai Tmetuchl said many companies had to "shut down or close down." However, Finance Minister Kaleb Udui said Palau can recover if reforms are implemented, including tax reforms.
