TONIGHT – 8PM, CHANNEL 5

After months of work, Murder Scene: The Incident Room begins tonight with the horrific murder of Elle Edwards.
The series blends documentary and drama to put the viewer inside the investigation, following the case through the eyes of the detectives who actually worked it – with unprecedented access to the team who investigated Elle’s murder and ultimately brought her killer to justice.
For filming, we had to bring detectives from across the country together for one day at our specially created Incident Room in Leeds – filmed, incidentally, in the same studio complex where the cells for Netflix’s Adolescence were built.
Given that these are serving detectives still working on major murder investigations, getting everyone into the same room at the same time was no mean feat! We’re incredibly grateful to them for giving us their time and trusting us to tell the story.
Most importantly, a huge thank you to the families who have experienced unimaginable loss and trusted us to tell the stories of their loved ones. That responsibility was never lost on any of us.
And finally, television is always a team effort. A fantastic group of people worked incredibly hard to pull this series together, so a massive thank you to @andrewsheldon @Christianhills @simionrobertson @AraamTehrani @francisbuchanan @bensheldon @Dorothea ScarletaSterian @meganwildman @RichardPearce @PhilippaWarlow @IanHart @JoelOrme @AlfieBurton @Anastasialokai
