What does a normal workday look like when you’re directing in New York City during the World Cup?
For me, it involved walking into skyscrapers I had only ever seen before in films, setting up interviews with the New York skyline as our backdrop, and then spending the evening wandering around the city with thinking, slightly in disbelief, this is my job?
@RosaDodd and I were in New York filming for Smithsonian's How Do They Build That?, a series that this year has taken me quite literally across the globe, interviewing the incredible engineers and architects behind the world's most impressive architecture and engineering feats.
New York was our final international shoot of the series, and definitely one of those weeks that reminds you why working in television is the best job in the world. Especially with the incredible team we had on board.
The last 12 months at Curve Media Limited have been *chefs kiss*. I started out as a PD on Love Nature for Channel 5, getting up close and personal with some of the *cutest* wildlife here in the UK.
Shooting internationally inside some of the worlds most incredible buildings, for Smithsonian - falling in love with Norway in the process, a story for another time perhaps. Finishing off with Curve’s fantastic Anna Abenson on the Development Team, working on Curve's exciting new Digital and YouTube projects.
The world's biggest thank yous go to @KitMorey, Camilla Lewis, Rob Carey and Charlie Bunce for throwing me into the deep end, and letting me swim!!! Forever grateful.
Onwards and upwards! If you’re crewing up, shooting something interesting, or just fancy a catch up - you know what to do! I can't wait to see what adventures the next 12 months bring.
