Really proud to have made my directorial debut with Britain’s Forgotten Girls for BBC Two.

The film centres the testimony of women who were sexually and criminally exploited by drug gangs as children, and asks why so many girls have been overlooked, criminalised or failed by the systems meant to protect them.

It was incredibly important to me that their stories were told with the seriousness, care and space they deserved, while also interrogating the wider institutional failures around them.

The response to the film has been incredibly encouraging, with strong national press coverage and four-star reviews from The Guardian, The Times and The Telegraph. More importantly, it has helped push this hidden form of exploitation further into public conversation.
