Welcome to the Family: The Murder of Dan Markel

We are currently gripped by Welcome to the Family: The Murder of Dan Markel, the new four-part documentary series from @Curious Films , streaming now on Disney+ in the UK.

The series unpicks the case of Dan Markel, a Florida State University law professor who was shot dead in his own garage in 2014 following a bitter divorce and custody battle. What starts as an unsolved killing gradually unravels into a murder-for-hire plot tied to his ex-wife's family, the Adelsons. It took investigators eleven years to get to the truth, and the documentary draws on exclusive interviews and previously unheard audio, including conversations with the FBI agent who led the case, to tell the full story for the first time.

It's a slow-burn watch that rewards patience, with each episode peeling back another layer of a genuinely stranger-than-fiction family story.
