Prime Video orders four-part Gary Lineker documentary from @Orchard Studios
Prime Video has greenlit a four-part documentary series on Gary Lineker, produced by independent production company Orchard Studios, the team behind Untold UK: The Jamie Vardy Story.
Now in production, the series will trace the 65-year-old's career from his playing days through to his work as a pundit and his role at the head of podcast company Goalhanger, alongside a look at his life outside football.
The documentary will include interviews with Lineker, along with family, friends and colleagues. Orchard's head of programmes, Nat Lippiett, has signalled the series won't shy away from its subject's more controversial moments, describing the approach as "no-holds barred." Lineker left his role presenting the BBC's Match of the Day last year after sharing a social media post that included an anti-Semitic trope.
Gussy Sakula-Barry, director of Channel 4's Diddy: In Plain Sight, is directing the series, which will be made by a mostly female production team.
This marks Orchard Studios' first commission from Amazon. The company was founded in 2024 by Dan Grabiner, formerly Amazon Prime's head of UK originals, and Nicola Hill, former co-chief executive of The Garden.
