Two Emmy nominations and a Peabody!
I am incredibly proud to have played a part in Surviving Syria’s Prisons (BBC) / Syria’s Detainee Files (PBS).
It was one of the hardest projects to get commissioned during my time as Head of Development at the BBC.
But a reminder that despite today's challenging commissioning climate, we should fight for the films we know matter, even when they are not obviously commercial.
I have so much respect for Sara Obeidat, Sasha Achilli and Sarah Waldron’s perseverance and integrity to get this film to air. It's wonderful to see a predominately female journalistic team get the respect and acknowledgement they deserve.
