Thanks to Fouxy Squad and Replit (sponsor) for organising last nights event for designers and creatives: “Design Mode: ON.”
This event brought creatives together to explore design and creative technology in a thoughtful, collaborative setting.
To spark conversation, several themes were introduced:
⭐️ TASTE Design judgment in the age of AI ➡️ Knowing when something feels “off,” even if AI says it’s good ➡️ What we automate vs. what we leave to human judgment ➡️ Defending taste without sounding vague
⭐️ INTERACTION Exploring new human–AI relationships ➡️ When AI feels like a tool vs. a collaborator ➡️ Moments of trust, friction, or surprise ➡️ Designing interactions that feel human, not just clever
⭐️ AGENCY Systems, autonomy, behaviour ➡️ OpenClaw-style agents that act without waiting for instructions ➡️ Design systems as decision-making systems, not just components ➡️ Designing guardrails that still allow improvisation
⭐️ VIBE CODING Intuition-led making ➡️ Finding your own rhythm with AI tools ➡️ Knowing when to push and when to pause ➡️ Turning happy accidents into repeatable skills
But in reality… it was also a great excuse to connect, network, and chat across a wide range of topics with fellow creators, helped along by plenty of food 🍕 and drinks 🥤.
A great event all around.
