The TV Access Project was formed in response to Jack Thorne’s compelling MacTaggart lecture (which is a brilliant albeit enraging watch) condemning ableism and failure of disabled people; its goal to make TV more accessible in deeds not just words. Awesome work.
After working out of TV for the past 8 years, it’s really heartening to get this update on what progress is being made. TV has to ensure that people are given the opportunities needed to make TV and show the disabled communities in all its glory.
How else are people going to see themselves represented?
TAP hold 4 forums a year updating what initiatives are up to redress the balance. Next one is 16th June 12-13:30. It’s definitely worth getting involved.
