Last night’s TM Masterclass webinar, hosted by Robin Parker, was a powerful reminder of what thoughtful documentary-making can achieve when it’s led with care, trust and integrity.
Hearing from Sian Guerra, Alex Thomas and Lindsay Konieczny about their work on Bibaa and Nicole: Murder in the Park was genuinely inspiring. They spoke with honesty about their relationship with Bibaa and Nicole’s family, the responsibility of handling such an intensely sensitive story, and the balance between investigation, compassion and accountability.
What came through most clearly was how intentional every decision was, from giving space to the family’s voices, to confronting institutional failures head-on. The result is a documentary series that honours Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman as people first, while also raising urgent questions about institutional racism, violence against women, and justice in the UK.
The double Grierson Award–winning series (Best Crime and Justice Documentary & Best Documentary Series at the Grierson Awards 2025) is available now on Sky and NOW TV, produced by True Vision Productions , and if you haven’t watched it yet, it’s essential viewing.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to the panel for sharing their experience with such clarity and care.

The upcoming masterclass prompted me to watch this fantastic series. It is brilliantly and thoughtfully shot, and the story is led by close family and friends in the most compelling way. The session gave an excellent insight into how relationships were built and sustained over the course of filming and how the very reticent Met Detective Inspector who brought the killer to justice, was persuaded to take part. Thank you to @SianGuerra @LindsayKonieczny and @AlexThomas
