🎬 Hello 2026 — Back on the Line (and Keeping It Light)

Well… we’re back!

New year, fresh inboxes (kind of), slightly slower starts, and that familiar January feeling of wanting to do everything immediately. 😅

I’m heading into 2026 feeling positive, proactive, and happily in the midst of some exciting conversations re. projects — which is always a lovely way to start the year. I hope you are too, and that the first few days back haven’t been too brutal.

One little thought for fellow freelancers as we kick things off:
🚨 Resist the urge to email everyone you’ve ever met on Day One. 🚨

I know it’s tempting.
“Happy New Year! Hope you’re well! Just checking if you’ve got a job for me!”

But the reality is: – people are still off
– inboxes are carnage
– and those first-day messages can be… a lot to receive

My advice?
⏸️ Take a breath.
⏳ Give it a beat.
📅 Reach out next week.
When you do: ✔️ Make it genuine
✔️ Keep it human
✔️ Share a little about what you’ve been up to
✔️ Ask how things are their side
✔️ Remind them clearly what you do and where you shine
✔️ Attach your current CV
✔️ Say you’d love to collaborate again in 2026 and would appreciate being kept in mind

It doesn’t need to be waffly.
It doesn’t need to be an essay.
It just needs heart, clarity, and intention.

I’m really hopeful that 2026 brings a steadier, more energising year across broadcast, radio, brands, experiential and events.

The last couple of years have tested a lot of us — but if there’s one thing this industry knows how to do, it’s adapt, regroup, and move forward.

Here’s to a year of good work, good people, and projects that actually excite us.

Wishing you all the very best for the year ahead. ✨
