Our Grierson DocLab: New Entrants training programme is open for applications, with support from Headline Industry Sponsor National Geographic and Industry Supporter Banijay UK 📹
If you’re UK-based, aged 18-25 and passionate about documentaries, but not sure on how to get started working in the sector, this could be just the thing for you.
Grierson DocLab: New Entrants will provide up to 12 successful candidates with the skills, confidence and connections to take their first steps into factual TV and documentary making 🎬
We’re looking for those interested in exploring a range of roles – people who have fresh perspectives, creative ideas and a positive, can-do attitude towards pursuing a career in factual filmmaking.
You don’t need to have studied media, film or TV to be eligible – and don’t need to have gone to university either – but a demonstrable passion for all things documentary is crucial.

We especially welcome applications from people currently under-represented in the TV industry. So, if you’re from a working-class background, a global majority group, are disabled, part of the LGBTQ+ community, or from outside of London (or any other group that is under-represented), we want to hear from you!
