I’m old enough to remember Christmas being an unmissable selection of specials from the very best show the BBC had to offer.
There does seem to be a lot of repeats, and a lack of that ‘one big show’ that everyone in the family will enjoy.
Which is a surprise as the BBC did manage to dominate last years Christmas TV.
I’m pretty sure this year will be owned by Netflix ‘Stranger Things’ pre finale Christmas Day - 2 episode drop.
And Boxing Day has a well timed finale of Pluribus on that day.
It could be a big win for the streaming services.

In a world where the BBC continues to have to prove its relevance, I’m surprised not to see a Christmas Day schedule that pulls out all the stops to reflect this.
It’s such a missed opportunity.
