💌 The Freelancer’s Inbox

My inbox is like a bad relationship.
Full of mixed signals, long silences, and the occasional exciting message that goes absolutely nowhere. đŸ“©đŸ˜…

You know the ones:

“We’d love to keep you in mind for future projects.”

“You sound perfect for this role!”

“Just checking your availability
”

and then
 nothing. 💀

Ghosted. Again.

Sometimes I swear I’ve been love-bombed by a hirer.

Being freelance is basically like modern dating, but with more attachments, less closure, and far fewer cocktails. 🍾

You refresh your emails like a reflex.
You get a dopamine hit every time you see a new message — only to realise it’s LinkedIn telling you someone viewed your profile (again). Or worse, it’s spam.

And yet, we stay optimistic.
We keep applying.
We keep showing up.
We keep believing the next “Are you free next week?” might actually mean “You’re booked.” 🙌

Because despite the silence, the chasing, the uncertainty — there’s still nothing quite like the buzz when that email lands...

The one that says, “We’d love to have you on the team.”
Instant serotonin. 🧠✹

So, to all my fellow freelancers refreshing their inboxes, coffee in hand, trying not to take it personally — I see you. 💛

You’re not being ghosted because you’re not good enough.

You’re being ghosted because the industry is chaotic, everyone’s overstretched, and half the time, they’re waiting for budget sign-off from someone who’s “OOO until Monday.”

Stay hopeful, stay funny, stay caffeinated.
Your next “reply all” moment is coming. ☕đŸ’Ș
