This new series has been a labour of love, following the incredible staff and volunteers who keep the North Yorkshire Moors Railway running. It’s a nostalgic, heartwarming journey through a much loved heritage line in this gorgeous part of the world.
It’s also a special one for me personally as Steam Train Diaries marks my step up to Series Producer, supported by Channel 4’s 4Skills and the brilliant team at Button Down. I was lucky to work alongside a more senior SP- @JoHaddock whose guidance and collaboration made this step up such a positive experience.
Our small but perfectly formed team poured lots of love into this series, and I even got to pick up the camera myself a few times, filming with the Pickering Fire Station team and passengers aboard the renowned Tornado locomotive.
I’m also currently part of the TRC ScreenSkills Series Producer Programme, which couldn’t have been better timed, giving me the space, confidence, and support alongside this role.
So if you fancy some steam, idyllic scenery and stories full of heart, tune in to Steam Train Diaries on More4, tomorrow at 9pm.
