MTV is axing its music Chanel’s in the UK.
In a move that shouldn’t surprise anyone, MTV music video Chanel’s are not good business anymore.
Let’s face it., if any of us want to watch a music video,we head to YouTube.
The MTV brand lives on with its flagship channel still broadcasting reality show hits.
But it is the end of an era.
And hard to explain to anyone that wasn’t a kid in the 80’s and 90’s how important music television was.

@NickNorton my knee jerk reaction was of 9 year old me in my Nike Hi Tops and Ecko tracksuit shouting “NOOO!” - thinking “what will I do without MTV Base?!” - to which I realised this will 0 effect on my life and how sad that is, really. Kids these days, eh? They’ll never know the joy of flicking between the music channels during the ad breaks. Most of them don’t even watch terrestrial TV anymore. The world really looks nothing like I thought it would! Thanks for sharing ☺️
