📢 The Film and TV Charity Calls for Record Participation in Second Money Matters Survey

Behind-the-scenes professionals across the UK film and TV sector are being urged to take part in the @Film and TV Charity second Money Matters survey, the industry’s leading study into the financial wellbeing of off-screen workers.

From unpredictable income, pay gaps, and debt to the impact of the cost-of-living crisis and production slowdowns, financial insecurity continues to shape the working lives of thousands across the sector. This year’s survey aims to uncover whether these pressures are temporary setbacks or signs of systemic cracks requiring urgent change.

Key areas of focus include:

Financial resilience & confidence in the future

Savings, pensions, and debt

Freelance vs. full-time work pressures

Experiences of underrepresented groups across the UK

Mark Tweddle, Research and Insight Manager at the Charity, said:

“The first Money Matters survey gave us a baseline, now we need to understand the trend. Only by hearing about people’s lived experiences can we move from assumptions to evidence, and build a fairer, more sustainable industry.”

The survey is:

✅ Fully anonymous
✅ Open to all behind-the-scenes professionals – from runners to producers, animators to marketers
✅ Takes around 10 minutes to complete
✅ Running until 31 October 2025
