I’m very much enjoying the first two episodes of ‘The Hack’.
The ITV drama about the uk phone hacking scandal.
It’s very well made.
But the first episode really sets up `David Tennant’ as the lead.. and then episode 2 completely starts again with Robert Carlisle as the lead in a totally separate angle to the story.
I’m sure it will start to connect on episode 3.
And I didn’t mind this way of story telling.
But episode 1 had some unique story telling tropes.. and could even be quit funny with tenants delivery of lines .
Ep2 did a way with the quirky story telling ideas such as using animation and breaking the forth wall for something more conventional.
It’s an unusual thing to change styles and actors so much with the opening 2 episodes.

But did feel like 2 separate shows in tone and style and stories.
Will be watching the rest 100%.
I have been looking forward to this for a while.
Ironically on Sky it seems. Would have been quite a thing if Murdock still owned sky.
I’ve just looked now.. and can’t find any mention of it.
It didn't help that episodes 2 and 4 were also broken into 'chapters' and this continues in episode 5 when the two character storylines intersect more fully.
As the first episode brings the audience in with Tennant/Davies' talking to camera, explaining key names etc, I think it might have been more effective for him to set up the other storyline.
