Edinburgh TV Festival 2025 shout out - please come and say hi! π
π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ π₯ As part of my @TRC Media Series Producer Scheme I'm heading to the Edinburgh TV Festival - for the first time in my career - and I am polarising mix of incredibly excited and incredibly nervous π¬
Not in the least due to the exciting line up of industry leaders and British and international silver screen royalty....

And I'm delighted that @The Talent Manager are organising a networking event during the week which I have been fortunate enough to book in a place for.
Through the scheme we have already had a session on networking, tips and tricks π€« and getting the most out of the week by the incredibly insightful and helpful Dani Carlaw with Screen Scotland and Tracy Forsyth.
Both were such useful sessions - and even though being tasked with networking & pitching to ***The Commissioners*** feels like an obvious 'out of comfort zone' experience π«€ - I also feel reassuringly armed, prepped and invigorated to take on the challenge.
I have surprised myself in enjoying the process: prepping treatments, researching talks and making a plan of attack for the week...
And although far from finished right now (on the last Friday night before the festival)....it has given me a confidence boost and reminded me that I am a TV Producer - ππ»ββοΈ there's not much I won't or can't take on when I look back over my experiences and the things I have achieved over the years.
- π« Last minute story drop out? - No problem.
- π€― Complex logistics in a complex access location? - Let me have a chat with them....
- πΆ What's that you need? A singing dog?....I think I might actually know someone who......
All jokes aside, and obviously wanting to get the most out of a great opportunity - my takeaway from the scheme and sessions so far is to feel that fear (that we all seem to fear) and do it anyway...
Because 9 times out of 10 you'll surprise yourself π₯³ ....in a good way
So that's exactly what I'm going to do.
