Talented TM-ers on TV - THIS WEEK we have TWO so look out for the another post today featuring this awesome film “Leigh-Anne: Race, Pop & Power", available now on BBC iPlayer.
First up, @TashGaunt, Producer/Director:
"I learnt so much on this show! As this was my first edit, maybe the most important thing I learned was to kill my darlings! Also to track the story of both the learning or emotional arc of the film/what is happening internally to your character & what is happening in the action of the scenes, each scene needs to move both of these things on.
I took the access and initial idea for the project to Dragonfly, worked with them to develop the idea & then we took it to the BBC. Both were really supportive and collaborative, they helped guide me as a new director whilst also allowing me the creative freedom to follow my gut.
My Top TV Tip is - when things feel like they aren’t going to plan, breathe. You cannot always control every situation, but you can only control your reaction to the situation. Take a step back, regroup & deal with what is in front of you"
