Primarily known for their award winning scripted content, @Dancing Ledge Productions have announced their first factual commission, Saving Mum (working title) 🎬
Directed by @MaleenaPone as part of Channel 4’s First Cut strand, the film follows Maleena and her mother as they explore a complicated family history shaped by silence, grief and alcoholism. Their journey takes them to Costa Rica 🌿 where they take part in an Ayahuasca ceremony that becomes central to their story.
This is a co-production between Dancing Ledge and Maleena’s company, StoryTell-Her Studios. It’s also the first project in Fatima Salaria's career to be fully led by women from underrepresented backgrounds 🙌 - something the teams are incredibly proud of.
The project was commissioned by Channel 4 commissioning editor Rita Daniels and edited by @ZebAchonu BFE.
