Amazon Prime have announced that the 3 new presenters to take over their high end motoring show ‘The Grand Tour’.

It’s an intersting move.. and one that’s being pushed by the press as a downgrade.

But I’m thinking the move might actually be super clever.

YouTubers, Thomas Holland and James Engelsman have 3.26million subscribers.. and clearly know a lot about presenting cars and making it entertaining.

The wildcard is trains-potting youtuber ‘Francis Bourgeois’ that has 144k subscribers and a strong like ability factor.

Casting from YouTube makes sense.. a proven ability to bring in viewers and years of screen tests.

Replacing the current Grand Tour lineup was gonna be tricky. The BBC tried to replace them with big names like mat le blanc and Chriss Evens..that didn’t work.

After spending a fortune on Mr Beasts ‘Beast Games’.. it shows amazons commitment to casting its shows with proven YouTube talent.

I think it’s a smart move… and one the uk broadcasters have been hesitant todo.

But I suspect it will bring in some of their own inbuilt audiences.

And we will start to see more and more of this.

What does everyone else think?
