Five years ago today I made a decision. Having spent two years in my temp job at Holland and Barrett a new manager came in and having come from a different industry he created a toxic environment that I couldn’t live with.

So I was given a choice, stay there and be unhappy or do something about it. So without another job to go to I handed in my two week notice. I decided not to look till my two weeks was over. Two days later I applied for my first job in tv, a one day role on a Monty Don gardening show.

I got the job and that turned into one year of work for that company and the rest is history. I’ve had my struggles and the last year has been the toughest for me personally because I have no support bubble (apart from a few friends on what’s app) but I’m still here, still working in tv and still glad I made that choice.

It made me think of the last line from terminator 2, sounds strange I know.

“The unknown future rolls toward us. I face it, for the first time, with a sense of hope.”

I made my choices and I’m loving them. Make the right choice for you and things will happen
