Anyone that’s spent any time in post production has felt the pinch of unrealistic deadlines.
A show that usually takes a long 6 weeks to cut for channel4 was pushed to be cut in a weekend, so that the series could change transmission order, because of the commissioners personal preference.
We achieved it.. as we allways do. But this sort of thing happens more often than most would expect.
And edit suite can vary.. it’s not uncommon to be in a basement.. or a super hot cupboard type room that gets super hot in the summer.
You get less of this as your career progresses..
But with budgets being slashed.. I wouldn’t be surprised if this became more common.
